Minnesota has a good deal of interest in Edwin Jackson. *On the closer front, Andrew Bailey, Huston Street and Brandon League are all available via trade for the right price. The Orioles, Red Sox, Reds, Twins, Mets, Padres and Blue Jays are all looking for closers. *The Yankees, Tigers, Marlins and Nationals have been the most aggressive teams trying to sign Yoenis Cespedes. *There is still no word on whether Yu Darvish will come to the States for next season. *Pittsburgh has interest in OF Nate McLouth.
-The Mariners, Nationals, Rangers and Cubs are interested in Prince Fielder, but Milwaukee is optimistic they can re-sign him, says Danny Knobler.
-The Angels have about $15-20 million to spend. C.J. Wilson, Aramis Ramirez and Ryan Madson are among their big ticket interests. Other available closers include Francisco Cordero, Luis Ayala, Matt Capps, Octavio Dotel, Scott Linebrink and Frank Francisco. The team could also trade Ervin Santana, Maicer Izturis or Alberto Callaspo to make more room on the payroll. Mark Buehrle, Roy Oswalt or Hiroki Kuroda would be less expensive alternatives to Wilson. The Angels won’t top five years and $85 million for Wilson.
–St. Louis will be looking for a shortstop along with the Brewers, Braves and Mets, says Derrick Goold. Rafael Furcal, Jimmy Rollins and Alex Gonzalez are available. The baseline will be the two years and $10.5 million Pittsburgh signed Clint Barmes for. If Paul Janish gets non-tendered next week, the Cards would be interested.
-The Mets will look for a late inning reliever or two and perhaps a second baseman after losing Jose Reyes to Miami, says Joel Sherman.
